Settled

Hello again.
We have now taken ownership of our block. Settlement was on thursday the 22nd. We have also seen a little bit of progress on the block already with simonds already pegging out the boundary lines and starting to site scrape. This had started before settlement had been done which was good. Now that we have the christmas, new year break we wont see anymore work till mid January. I will keep you up to date when we have more progress. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

Titled (Finally)

Well its done, we just rceieved an email on wednesday the 7th Dec from our conveyancer confirming that our block has finally been titled. It's 9 months overdue from what they expected when we put down our deposit. Now this is titled they have told us that settlement will be on the 22nd Dec which will see us not start the build until after the christmas break. Our simonds customer relations co-ordinator is hoping to move it forward so they can start as early as next friday 16th Dec. My wife & I's fingers are crossed that they can start on the 16th as it may mean we have the slab down by christmas break.

We have a meeting this week with Simonds to sign off on the final plans and meet our site supervisor. Its getting very exciting now.

Land Info

Hello again,
Thought i'd give you guys so info and some pictures of our land. At this point in time we still dont have a confirmed title date.  When we first signed up we were meant to have the title in March 2011. So as you can imagine we are really annoyed that this is now 7 months overdue. Although it gives us more time to save $$.

Our block is on a corner and across from what will be a decent size park. The measurements are 16mX34m totaling 540m2.

This is taken in Mid June. As you can see they have just done the sewage(easement) down the side and  around the front of our block.

This was mid August. We now have kerbing and road base. This is also where they completed the rest of the services water, electricity & communications.

The above pictures were taken 10th of Oct 2011. As you can see we now have driveways & footpaths.

Not much to do now except some asphalt and clear the blocks of the piles of dirt and rock.

Hello all,

I am publishing this blog to help others who wish to build with Simonds and also give you ideas of what colours we have done through out the house. This is my wife & I first time building and first home.

We are building in Epping North in Victoria in the Summer Hill Estate Stage 12B. At this point in time we are still  awaiting on our land title, which is supposed to be this month, however we're not holding our breath.

We hope that you enjoy the read and pictures throughout this blog as we go through our build.
