We Are Wrapped

Welcome to another installment of our blog. We are wrapped that our house has been wrapped ready to brick up. All the plumbing has been completed. We are still awaiting for 2 more windows to be installed in the family room and our bricks are on site ready to go.
We also had an independent house inspection on Tuesday and there were 8 items to be addressed. I have forwarded this to our CRC & SS. The items picked up seem to be easy fixes which is a bit of a relief,  wheather or not they knew they had to do them before we sent the report im not sure, although there was a couple that we were told about when we had our site meeting just over a week ago. I think they have started to fix some of the issues from the report. I will call our SS tomorrow to check the status.
I would now assume that they will start laying the bricks next week as we had some pretty horrible weather this afternoon & they still need to put in the front garden taps in so the brickies can mix up the mortar.

Again, I hope you enjoy the photo's.

Gutters & Facia's

Hello once again,

It's good to see that our Site Supervisor in our meeting last week said that he expected all the framing to be done and the guutters & facia's to be put on. He didnt disappoint, the gutters & facia's are all up framing is complete and they are placing the beams for the colorbond roof on top of the roof trusses. Just a small section to go to finish that phase. I will suspect that our windows will be installed this week along with the house & roof wraping (sisalation insulation).
We have also organised to get an independant building inspection, this is being conducted on Tuesday 14th Feb. The wife & I have already noticed some small things as well as our SS pointing out somethings, so it will be interesting to see what else they find. I think the framing looks pretty good to the first home builders eye. If all goes well I hope to see them comence the bricking by the end of this week. Fingers crossed.
Well till the next installment please enjoy the photo's again.

We've Been Framed

Hello again,
Well we went to our site meeting on tuesday morning to have a meet & greet with our site supervisor, which we are very happy with, he's very pleasant and seems to know whats going on. We rolled up to site to see that they have erected 95% of the frame and need to install the roof trusses. It was very exciting to see that the house is moving quite quickly. He's expecting the frame stage to be completed by this week and start wrapping and installing gutter & facia's and windows. He thinks there's a chance to start bricking as early as next week, which i was surprised. If they keep going at this rate I suspect they might almost have lock up at the end of the month, which would be great. Well as usual, until the next installment enjoy the photo's.

Slabbed & Ready

Welcome to another installment of our building journey.

The wife & I went for a weekend away last weekend the 28th Jan and Thought we'd go for a drive that friday just to see if any more had been done as they had finished all the drainage and they had laid the crushed rock down ready to lay the slab. To our amazement they had freshly laid the slab on the friday the 27th Jan. We or me more so was really amazed that they had laid our slab even with the Australia day holiday in the middle of the week. Its amazing how quick its all going.

We went there yesterday to see what else is happening and to see if this grass is still getting cut, unfortunatly they had started on the thursday but have not finished it all yet. Very disappointed. We have also got our pre fab frames on site and suspect this will go up sometime this week. its getting very exciting.
We also have a meeting on Tuesday with our new Site Supervisor. This will be good as I already have a couple of questions, nothing major so dont worry.

Till the next installment again enjoy the photo's.

Electricity & Drained

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a great festive season.

Well I went for my ritual cruze this morning to the block and found out that they have completely fenced off the block, we have a big bin and they have laid the electricity to where our metre box is going to be and done three quarters of the drainage pipes. It is good to see that they are progressing nicely. We have had a bit of a hiccup with the land survey when they finalized the levels. Its been classed as a bushfire prone area and because of this the house was assesed as a BAL12.5 (Bushfire Attack Level) all because of the grass land across the road which is to be transformed into the estates major park. We have insisted to Simonds that this get rectified and fixed up as we are not paying extra cash for this as it will be transfomed with in 12 months. They have told us that this will be cut so we can get our house back to a low BAL which wont incur any extra costs. The cut was meant to be done by yesterday but still hasnt, so now I have to get onto Simonds and let them know. Other than that its been pretty good.  Till the next post enjoy the photos.
